He isn't himself when she's around, even after all this time. He blusters, blunders, and blushes like a greenhorn. He can feel his skin turning red. He reaches up, trying to hide his blush, to adjust his hat and knocks the darn thing off his own head instead! "I -- I -- Hum, that is, I figured -- We -- I figured we'd go together. That'swhyIdidn't."
Buck's sniggering behind him. "That don't mean you fail to ask the girl first, JD."
"That's all right." Casey grins as bright and beautiful as the sun. "Long as he knows he's mine, everything's good."
