Loving him had not been a mistake, Phoebe thought, sniffling. Her sisters would think what they wanted to, and they could. It was certainly a Halliwell family trait to belittle each other if only in one sister's opinions of the other. But loving Cole had not been a mistake.
She had given up her life as a Halliwell and a Charmed One. She had surrendered her soul at one time and her magic at another. She had walked into Hell itself and almost ruled. She had done so much, tried so much, to make their relationship work, and no matter what anybody said, she knew he had too. He had faced all of Hell and Heaven to be with her.
That was a man, she thought, sniffling and turning off her favorite movie. That was a real man, her man. He'd fought Hell, and he'd lost in the end, but he'd done it all for her. He'd done his best to change everything for her.
She hugged his pillow to her, still smelling his cologne. Fresh tears dropped. No one else would ever know how wonderful a man he'd been, or how great their love, but she would never forget.
