Ash watched his best friend playing in his dirty clothes hamper. She was chasing her own tail, grabbing its end and crying out joyfully, "Pika! Pika pi!" He'd seen almost every Pokemon she'd ever gone against look thunderstruck by the time the battle was over, but right now he felt thunderstruck himself for an entirely different reason. "Aw," he said, blushing and scratching his head.
"Pika pika pika pi!" Pikachu exclaimed, waving her arms.
Ash bent, lifted her, and cuddled her in his arms. She hugged his face, as she so often and sweetly did. "I love you too, Pikachu."
